VEHICLE HISTORY

Here you find a list of ALL the issues/faults that I have encountered over the last Two and a half years of owning this vehicle.

    I have owned this car since August 2017 and had it for 2 and a half years. In that time I have covered about 11,000 miles. The car had nigh on a full service history when I got it and I have carried out 2 Services myself (May 2018 - 88,500 miles & May 2019 - 93,500 miles) along with a professional full Transmission Service.
    May 2018 Service - had all Filters, Oils, Fan belt, Plugs changed. Everything else topped up/checked.
    May 2019 Service - had all Filters and oils changed. Everything else topped up/checked.
    March 2019 had Full Transmission service. New Filter & pan, oil completely flushed through & renewed.

  • ENGINE - Intermittent Misfire :
        Frequency : Three times out of the last Five times of driving, after approx half a mile from home during mornings. (Jan 2020)

  • ENGINE - Slight oil leak from O/S Rocker cover gasket :
        Frequency : Ongoing.
  • TRANSMISSION - Limp mode :
        Frequency : Approx 4/5 times during the last 2 years.
        Details : When engine is hot, aggressive acceleration in first/second gear can sometimes trigger a Transmission error and put the car into limp mode.
        Notes : Turning the engine off for a few minutes has usally cleared this. . . Although on One occasion I also had to clear the fault codes.
  • SUNROOF - Inetermittent Sensor :
        Frequency : Usually when outside temperatures has changed more than 5-10 degrees after putting roof UP.
        Details : Sometimes, after putting the roof up, the S/Roof button stays red, occasionaly with a warning stating the sunroof has not locked (even though it actually has). Sun roof will then not go Up or Down.
        Notes : A few small taps on the inside sunroof lining (drivers side, rear) with palm of hand clears red light and all works fine.
  • IBS SENSOR - Failure :
        Frequency : Once (approx August 2019).
        Details : After not starting vehicle for 2 days, battery was flat. Purchased NEW BATTERY. 2 days later new battery was flat. Further investigation showed IBS sensor failed.
        Notes : Purchased Used IBS SENSOR (From an E63). Has been working fine since.
  • BLOCKED DRAIN HOLES - Water in boot :
        Frequency : Once ( approx July 2019).
        Details : Drain holes in the sunroof storage compartment had blocked. Water over flowed into boot area and into fuse area. . . causing various error messages.
        Notes : Completey stripped boot area of all carpets, battery, Fuse box etc. Disconnected draining pipes and cleared all blockages. Removed, completely dried, and protected all  fuses and relays etc
    Blew out all water from boot and left to completely dry under heaters for 2 days.
    Refitted everything after the 2 days and checked... All been ok since.    .
  • RADIO DOES NOT WORK - No Reception :
        Frequency : Never has since I've owned it.
        Details : White noise only on Radio Only. . . All other media (CD's, Sat Nav, Telephone etc) come through loud and clear. 
        Notes : Not investigated.
  • N/S MIRROR - Overruns when folding out :
        Frequency : Ongoing since December.
        Details : When wing mirrors unfold from folded position, N/S mirror overruns until facing completely outward. Then requires moving manually back to correct position. The mirror still auto tilts in Reverse gear, as does glass adjustments from the adjustment button.
        Notes : Found out the N/S mirror potentiometer needs changing, but started to break the car before I had chance to get one.
